Press Releases - 2018December 2018 RI’s Housing Market Showing Strong End-of-Year FinishWarwick, RI – December 19, 2018 – November sales data released by the RI Association of Realtors (RIAR) and State-Wide Multiple Listing Service (MLS) reflect a strong housing market as the year heads to a close. Single-family home sales increased 2.1 percent from 12 months earlier and the median sales price of $267,700 represented a 3.4 percent hike. MLS recorded the highest number of November sales on record last month and the median selling price was the highest in November since 2006. Full Story November 2018 Housing Trends Stay Consistent in OctoberWarwick, RI -- November 21, 2018 – October saw much of the same in Rhode Island’s single-family home sale trends. The median sales price of homes sold last month continued to rise year-over-year for the 21st consecutive month while sales activity decreased for the eighth consecutive month. At $271,750, October’s median sales price was 2.6 percent higher than that of October 2017. Single-Family Homes Hits $290K in JuneWarwick, RI – July 20, 2018 – The median price of single-family home sales continued to climb in June, rising to $290,000 according to the latest monthly sales report from the Rhode Island Association of Realtors. The price reflects the highest monthly median price since July of 2006 and is just 2.8 percent less than the highest monthly median price on record. The median sales price has risen steadily since December of 2017. June’s median represents a 5.5 percent increase since June of last year. The supply of homes for sale fell to 3190 last month, from 3569 12 months earlier. Full Story January 2018 2017 Ends on a High Note with Home Prices Rising in Rhode IslandWarwick, RI, January 31, 2018 – The median price of Rhode Island single-family homes sales was $255,000 in December, an 8 percent increase from 12 months earlier according to statistics recently released by the Rhode Island Association of Realtors. Sales activity stayed relatively stable, falling less than one percent. There were 918 single-family home sales sold in the Ocean State last December compared to 927 in December of 2016. Full Story Realtors Report New Record in Rhode Island Home Sales in 2017Warwick, R.I. – January 18, 2018 – Rhode Island’s housing market continued to gain strength in 2017 according to the latest report from the Rhode Island Association of Realtors and its subsidiary, State-Wide Multiple Listing Service. For the fifth consecutive year, the number of single-family homes sold rose year-over-year, eclipsing previous records. The data reveals that 11,282 single-family homes were sold in the Ocean State last year, up from 11,066 in 2016. The median price of those sales climbed 6.3 percent to $255,000. Full Story
