Whitten Named President of State-Wide MLS
Warwick, RI – November 8, 2018 –State-Wide Multiple Listing Service (MLS) has announced the organization’s new officers for 2019. Christopher Whitten of Premeer Real Estate in Johnston, RI has been elected president of the real estate data exchange service. Other new officers include President-Elect Robert Martin of CrossRoads Real Estate Group in Woonsocket and Glocester; Treasurer Stephen Larson of RE/MAX Professionals in Newport; and Secretary Sherri Mercurio of the Mercurio Group Real Estate in Pawtucket.
Whitten entered real estate ten years ago following a successful career as the co-host of a popular morning radio program. In 2013 he founded Premeer Real Estate with offices in Johnston, RI and Uxbridge, MA. He has served on numerous Realtor committees and panels including the Northern RI Board of Realtors (NRIBR) Community Action Committee and the Realtor Association of Central Massachusetts (RACM) Professional Development Committee. He has also served as the emcee for the Northern Rhode Island Board’s Diamond Sales Awards for the last three years. He is a past recipient of the Rookie of the Year from the Realtor Association of Central Massachusetts and the 2018 winner of the Northern RI Board’s Realtor of the Year Award. In addition to his duties as MLS president in the year ahead, Whitten will also serve as the president-elect for NRIBR. He resides with his wife, Lindsey and their five children in Johnston, RI.
Four Realtors were also newly appointed as directors on the State-Wide MLS board. They are: Andrew Schilke of Schilke Realty in Westerly; Brenda Fernandes of EXIT Realty Firm in Warwick; Deborah Schusterman of HomeSmart Professionals Real Estate in Warwick; and Joseph Botelho, Jr. of Botelho Realty in East Providence.
State-Wide Multiple Listing Service, a subsidiary of the Rhode Island Association of Realtors, facilitates real estate information data exchange among MLS members and shares listing and housing information with consumers through www.riliving.com.
