The Rhode Island Association of Realtors (RIAR) released data today indicating that sales activity in the state's housing market has been trending up, with sales rising for the second consecutive quarter during the last three months of 2011. However, in comparing year to year, the Realtors cautioned that sales and median price increased significantly during the second quarter of 2010 owing to the federal home buyer tax credit in place at the time which was set to expire at the end of June, 2010.
